Welcome Back Douglasdale Families!

It has been an amazing start to our school year. Students have loved meeting their teachers, learning with friends and playing on our new playground. You will receive an email from your child’s teacher later today with more specific details about their first days of school. For families interested in ordering Healthy Hunger, we are setting up the school account next week and will send an email when you are able to go in and register. Last year, we were able to fund raise over $5000 which went towards purchasing new books for classroom book clubs, teacher training on the Science of Reading, new curriculum resources, and a new basketball net on our back compound.

We hope everyone has a lovely long weekend ahead and we look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday at 8:50 am.

The school website is a major source of information, and we recommend you visit the site prior to calling the school with questions or inquiries.

Student Fees:

All fees must be paid online via your MyCBE account or by credit/debit card at the school.  We do not accept cash or cheques.

Central Student fees (lunch and transportation) will be allocated around October 16, 2023, in your MyCBE accounts.

Field trip fees must be paid prior to the field trip taking place.

Final Notices will be sent out to families with outstanding previous year fees on September 19.  Unpaid fees will be sent to collections in February 2024.

Lunch Supervision Registration – Deadline Sept. 30:

All students remaining at school during the lunch hour MUST be registered for Lunch Supervision via your MyCBE account, Fees, Lunch Supervision.

 

Transportation, Bus Routes & MyBusStop App:

Bus stops and routes will be posted in your MyCBE account when your registration has been completed.

If you have not yet registered for transportation, please sign into your MyCBE account, Fees Transportation Registration.  Your registration may take up to 6 weeks to process.

If your child is riding the bus, we recommend you register for MyBusStop app. The app will notify you of delays and track your child's bus. The school code you require is: DDXT

As part of back-to-school transportation planning, we encourage all families to have back-up plans in place in case of delayed or cancelled bus service during the school year. Families are responsible for the safe passage of students to and from the bus stop and at the bus stop.

 

Healthy Lunch & Snack:

Please send your child(ren) with a healthy lunch, snack and water bottle each day.  The office is very busy during lunchtimes therefore, we ask you to avoid dropping off lunches at this time.

Just a reminder that Douglasdale School is a Nut Aware school.

 

Student Medication:

If you require medication to be stored at school, please complete the attached form along with the medication in a ziplock bag containing the child’s name.

Serve Medication Conditions:

If your child has been diagnosed with a serve medication condition, please complete the attached form and return to the office ASAP.

Medical forms must be revised annually.

 

Volunteering & Annual Forms:

Every year cleared volunteers are required to complete a new annual volunteer form (see below).  Please complete it before September 30 and return to the office.

Reporting Absences / Lates:

If your child is going to be late or absent, please either call the school office 403-777-6177 Ext. 1 or email Ms. Naylor senaylor@cbe.ab.ca before 9:05am.  

Please speak clearly and slowly when leaving a message and include:

1. Your child’s name

2. Teacher's name 

3. Reason for the absence or late

Please email your child's teacher and Ms. Naylor senaylor@cbe.ab.ca  if you are picking your child up early from school.
