DDS Weekly Message - October 13, 2023
Happy Friday Douglasdale Families!
Thank you to our families who have registered to volunteer this year. We are looking forward to having you in the school and appreciate our volunteers who have already been in the building supporting learning in many ways. If you are looking to apply for police clearance, there is currently a 10-to-12-week delay through The Calgary Police Service. Teachers and the school office will reach out via our weekly message to share upcoming volunteer opportunities. If you have any questions about volunteering, please visit our school website for more information under the ‘Get Involved’ tab. Thank you for your continued partnership in learning. Have a great weekend!

Student Fees:
Please regularly check your MyCBE/PowerSchool account for fees, field trips are being allocated daily. Lunch Supervision fee will be allocated to students accounts on/after October 16, 2023.
IMPORTANT - Unpaid Fees - Collections:
Unpaid fees affect the school's revenue therefore, it is very important that all fees are paid on time. Outstanding fees for previous school years will be sent to collections in February 2024. To avoid this, please sign into your MyCBE account or visit the school with either a debit or credit card.
Student Illness:
Just a friendly reminder, if your child is sick, please keep them at home until they are well enough to return to school.
Halloween:
Students are invited to wear a costume at school on October 31st. Classes will have an opportunity to participate in a school-wide parade where they will have a chance to see other costumes and share theirs. Costumes should be child friendly. Please do not send any prop weapons, food items, or treat bags to school. October 31st will be a regular learning day for students.
Halloween Dance – October 19, 2023:
Douglasdale School Council invites you to the Family Halloween Dance on October 19th from 6-8pm. All students MUST be accompanied by an adult. Costumes are encouraged! A form has gone home with your student, please fill it out and return it along with payment to the office by October 16th. Douglasdale school council strives to remove barriers and provide fair entry to all. If the fee is a barrier for your family please return the slip and join us at no cost. All proceeds from this event go into our Community Cares Fund, which directly assist members of our school community. For all inquiries please contact School Council.
