Dear DDS Families,
Welcome to a new and exciting school year at Douglasdale School! I hope that each of you have had an enjoyable summer spent with family and friends.
We are thrilled to welcome back students, staff, and families, as well as meeting those who are new to DDS. Our dedicated staff have been busy preparing for a year filled with new opportunities, challenges, and achievements. We are committed to creating a learning community where each student can thrive and achieve their full potential. At DDS this includes teachers working together closely in teaching teams to provide whole group and small group evidence-based instruction, two exciting school-wide residencies (SOGO Adventure Running & Trickster Theatre), as well as extra-curricular lunch hour clubs for students to connect and build friendships with peers outside of their class.
We value the strong partnership we share with you and recognize the vital role you play in your child’s educational journey. Your support and involvement are crucial to our collective success and we look forward to working together to make this year the best one yet. We would like to invite you to our Open House on September 19th from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm to connect with other DDS families and staff, and see the spaces where your child will be learning this year.
CBE Annual Student Forms are now available in your MyCBE PowerSchool Account. Please complete these by Sept. 20th to ensure we have the most current contact information.
DDS staff will continue to communicate important dates and information via email on a weekly basis, as well as keeping our school website up-to-date with the most current information:
- Back to School information
- Busing Information
- Staff Information
- Student Health Plan Form (bring form to office with medication in a labeled Ziploc bag)
- Lunchtime
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. Thank you for your continued support and dedication. We are so excited about the fantastic year ahead, full of growth, learning, and memorable moments!
Sincerely,
Heather McKay
