Happy Sunday DDS Families, Due to our upcoming Fall Break, students will not attend school on November 11. Students and staff will gather this week on Thursday, November 7th to honour Indigenous Veteran’s Day and Remembrance Day at a school-wide assembly. This will be an opportunity for our students to come together to reflect on the sacrifices made, both past and present, by countless Canadians whose service has resulted in our freedom and peace. This assembly will be ceremonial and is not meant as a student performance assembly. If families would like to join us, please email Mrs. Mckay so we can plan for required seating. For those who would like to contribute to our Remembrance Wall of Honour emailed out earlier this week, please send the form with your child to the office. Also, just a reminder, tomorrow is individual picture retake day. If you would like your child to have their picture taken, please email your child’s teacher so they know to send them down to the gym. Have a great week ahead! DDS Tab Team Request: Our Tab Team Leadership Club is looking for a donation of large 4L water jugs to help store the aluminum tabs we are collecting. Save the Date – School Dance | November 28, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm: This year School Council will be hosting our first dance in November. While we know how popular the Halloween Dance has become, scheduling conflicts have led to a date change. Our Grade 3-5 Spirit Day club has many fun spirit days planned for Halloween week; stay tuned for details. Our November dance will include a live DJ, coloured lights and a theme that will be shared closer to the date. Class Interruptions – Pick Up Arrangements: To reduce the number of class interruptions during the day please ensure you have discussed the end of day pick up arrangement with your child prior to coming to school.
