Parent / Teacher Conferences – November 27 & 28:
This conference is an opportunity for parents/guardians and teachers to discuss your child's current learning. Parents can book appointments with teachers via their MyCBE/PowerSchool accounts. At least one parent/legal guardian in every family must have an active account.
Access to book appointments with Teachers will be available from Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 4:30pm until Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 11:59 pm. Conferences will be held in-person, in the child's classroom. If you prefer to make an alternate arrangement with your child's teacher, please email them directly.
Clubs – NEW:
Douglasdale School Council is collecting holiday cards to deliver to seniors in our community this December. The holiday season can be an isolating time for many seniors, so we are spreading acts of kindness! Families are invited to participate at home and send cards in to add to our donation box. At school, students in grades 1 to 5 are invited to join the DDS Card Club. Over lunch recess, students will meet to create handmade cards to contribute to the Seniors Holiday Card Drive. Please discuss this with your child; if they are interested in participating, please sign up here.
Dress for the Weather:
As the weather changes, please ensure your child is dressed for the weather. Snow is in the forecast.
Traffic / Student Safety:
Ensuring our students get to school safely is everyone’s responsibility. Please be mindful of crosswalks, parking rules, and speed limits when you are near our schools, especially during the morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal times.
Pick up and drop off times can get quite busy. Give yourself extra time to navigate safely around schools, whether you are walking, wheeling, or driving. For those who drive, help alleviate congestion by parking a block or two away and walking in, wherever possible.
- Abide by traffic signs
- No U Turns in front of the building
- Do not park in front of neighborhood driveways - neighbors should be able to access their full driveway
- Avoid bus loop entrance and exit to ensure school buses have room to navigate
- Accessible parking areas at the front of the school and in the main parking lot are for those with a visible pass
- Unload your child from the curbside NOT the streetside
