Happy Sunday DDS Families,
Our DDS Read-a-thon has officially kicked off as we gathered on Tuesday to boost and motivate our amazing readers of DDS. Students can read to themselves, read to a friend or family member or have someone read to them! Any form of reading counts – even reading a recipe to bake your favourite cookies! During our assembly we jammed out to MC Grammar who reminded us about the joy of reading and competed in a “Guess that Book” game using emojis. We have included the links below for your enjoyment! We also announced our first four winners of our daily book draw!
The World Book Day Song – By MC Grammar
Guess The Children’s Book – Emoji Quiz
Happy reading!

READ-A-THON May 16th – May 31st:
DDS School Council is excited to host our 2024 Read-a-Thon. This is a fundraiser run by DDS School Council which enhances learning through the purchase of technology, bussing for field trips, resources for science, and books for classrooms. Each student was given a flyer with instructions and a pledge collection form. If you did not receive one, please email or call the school and we can ensure one is sent home. Thank you for supporting School Council in enhancing the learning and well-being at DDS!
Next Year Transportation Registration – Now Open – Deadline June 16, 2024:
You can now register for the school bus service for the 2024-2025 school year. Service levels and proposed fees will remain the same as in the current school year. Register using MyCBE by June 16 to be included in route planning over the summer.
My 1st Ride
The CBE offers a school bus orientation program for first-time riders and their parents, called My 1st Ride. The program consists of a 20-minute presentation followed by a short ride on a school bus and a drama presentation. The sessions are free but you must register in advance. Learn more and register.
2023-2024 Yearbook – Last Chance – Deadline Sunday May 26 2024:
This is your very last chance to order a 2023-2024 Yearbook. Due to the weather in early May, our whole school photo had to be rescheduled for Wednesday, May 29th, so as a result our yearbook delivery date may be impacted by the delay.
Have you Moved or soon to be Moving?
Have you moved during the school year or are you planning on moving during the summer to a new community? Please ensure you have informed the office of any changes.
Next Year Plans – Kindergarten to Grade 4 Only:
