Happy Spring Break DDS!

As we jump into a week off school, we wanted to welcome Spring with a couple of notes of appreciation:

  • Thank you to our DDS community for the delicious staff lunch on Wednesday. It was delicious!
  • Thank you to families who met online for parent/teacher conferences. Our teachers look forward to sharing progress and setting goals with families and we appreciate your flexibility in meeting online.
  • Thank you to our community members who have been more thoughtful with regards to traffic safety and parking around the school.

We look forward to welcoming students back at school on March 31st. Have a wonderful break!

Cheers,

DDS Administrative Team

Scholastic Book Fair - Volunteers Needed, April 1-4, 2025:

DDS is excited for our upcoming book fair! Students and their families will have the opportunity to purchase interesting books and fun novelty items over the week of April 1-4th.

April 1st is a ‘viewing only’ day, followed by April 2-4 when items will be available for purchase. Families are invited to shop in-person on Friday, April 4th between 8:30 am and 12:00 pm. Every dollar spent earns DDS funds to purchase new books for our school library.

Trickster Performance – We are excited about our upcoming Trickster residency after Spring Break. This is an opportunity to bring curriculum to life through the arts. We will be hosting two performances on April 4 and families are invited to attend. Due to our gymnasium capacity, we will be hosting two performances. The performances will be recorded and shared via Google Classroom for those who are unable to make the daytime performance. If you can volunteer to support this learning opportunity, please sign up here: Douglasdale sign up genius

 Performance times are listed below:

 9:15 am – 10:15 am Trickster Performance:

Chan, Vilaysane, Haggard, Otterson, Brocke, Koehler, Audette, Field, and Shaw

 10:30 am – 11:30 am Trickster Performance:

Casino Volunteers Needed:

We are looking for volunteers to help on May 7th and 8th, 2025 at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino. We have lots of shifts available and need many volunteers to make this a success. This fundraiser will result in between $60,000 and $80,000 in funding that supports all sorts of activities at Douglasdale School.

You do not need a police clearance to volunteer, nor do you need to have a child at Douglasdale School. If you or another adult (friend, family member, etc.) can help us out by working a casino shift, please let us know by emailing ddsvolunteering@gmail.com.
