Happy Friday Douglasdale Families!
This afternoon’s Open House was a wonderful opportunity to welcome and meet our new students and families who will be joining our school community this September. We are so grateful to everyone who attended and helped make it such a warm and exciting event.
As we head into June, there is a lot to celebrate! Next week all students will participate in an African Music Residency with entertainer Garth Prince. Parents are invited to see a final performance on Friday – Kindergarten to Grade 2 (11:30 am) and Grades 3 to 5 (12:15 pm).
We would also like to invite all DDS families, along with friends and community members, to join us on the evening of June 18th (5:00 pm to 8:00 pm) for our annual Food Truck Community Night and Bottle Drive, hosted by School Council. It will be a great chance to come together, enjoy delicious food, and celebrate a fantastic school year.
Some important reminders as we finish this school year and start to plan for next year:
Register for next year’s yellow bus service – Deadline June 14, 2026:
It is important that families apply by Sunday, June 14, 2026, for your child/ren to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. CBE will continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 14 deadline will be delayed. It may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.
Confirmed routes will be posted in MyCBE in August.
The estimated annual cost for Grades 1-5 is $500.00 and for kindergarten (one way) $285.00. Families can cancel with no financial impact by submitting a cancellation form by Sept. 30, 2026. Registration is available through your MyCBE account.
