Happy Friday DDS Families, 

We are so thankful to all the families who have provided us with feedback about the writing samples that were sent home over the last few weeks.  Taking time to celebrate your child's writing progress plays a huge role in keeping them motivated and feeling successful!  The response to this researched-based SRSD (Self-Regulated Strategic Development) approach to writing has been very positive from parents, teachers and our students!  If you have not yet received a writing sample, you can expect it before the end of the month.  Want to know more about SRSD, check out your child’s google classroom or click on this video from our SRSD partners: Kids Love SRSD

 Friendly By-Law Reminder | Dogs on school property: 

Just a friendly reminder that dogs are not permitted on school grounds in accordance with the City of Calgary Bylaw, with the exception of accredited Service Dogs accompanying an individual on school property.  We kindly ask that anyone walking their dog to school to please say goodbye to their student(s) at the edge of our school property, or if picking up, establish a meeting space that avoids coming into the school yard.  No matter the size or friendly nature of your dog, as part of the city by-law we are obliged to enforce this regulation.  Thank you for your understanding.
