Happy Friday DDS! 

It was a busy week at DDS this week with many amazing learning opportunities. Most importantly, we learned that warm weather brings puddles, and big puddles on the roof cause leaks!  If you have been around our building this week, you will have noticed the response to our leaky roof with many contractors out to clean and restore our classrooms and hallways as quickly as possible.  We are so grateful for the immediate response, and we thank our families, students and staff for being flexible and supportive. 

Additionally, we continue to have community concerns around traffic safety around our school.  To support this, the Calgary Police and Calgary Parking Authority will continue to patrol our hotspots and busy times to ensure that we are keeping our students safe.  They will be diligent in monitoring parking, speed limits in a school zone, illegal u-turns and blocking the driveways of our community neighbours. This also includes using our bus loop which is closed to traffic from 8:30-9:00am and during kindergarten pick-up from 11:30am-noon.  To avoid frustration, we encourage parents to park further away and enjoy a fresh air walk.

G3-5 Leadership Club – Spirit Days (1st Thursday of every month 12:40pm to 1:20pm) 

G1-2 STEM - March 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20 (12:10pm to 12:30pm) 

Spirit Club – New Event: 

Monday, March 3 is ‘Cozy Compliments Day’ at DDS. As a follow up to Pink Shirt Day, students are invited to wear their coziest pajamas and give out as many compliments as they can throughout the day.
