Dear DDS Families, 

Our DDS community really lived up to our motto, ‘if you can be one thing – be kind’, this month! As a staff, we are so appreciative of our community and connections. Thank you for raising exceptional children and contributing to our school and larger community in many ways. DDS is a wonderful school to be a part of with families such as yours supporting us! 

DDS families and staff contributed a total of 1,046 holiday cards for seniors. This amount greatly contributed to the grand total of card donations within the community from various schools and community members! The total number of cards collected overall was 2243! Our school council co-chair Monica Nartey was able to deliver to a total of 9 senior facilities, including 4 long term care, 3 retirement living and 2 assisted living centres. 

As part of the Braveheart campaign, our generous community contributed $1,250 which will purchase gift cards for families at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. These heartfelt donations will bring comfort and joy to children and their families spending the holiday season in the cardiac unit, receiving much-needed care. On behalf of our staff member Mrs. H and her family, who champion this important cause, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your donation will make a meaningful difference this holiday season!
