Happy Friday DDS Families,

It was a fun week for all as we are head into the holiday season. Students loved finding our mischievous ‘Mistletoe’ around the school and proudly showed off their favourite winter socks, plaid outfits and holiday hats. Classes also enjoyed playing holiday games such as  ‘Name That Tune’ and  ‘I Spy Reindeer’’. Next week students are invited to wear their favourite jersey on Monday, strut the halls in a holiday sweater on Tuesday, and be cozy in their pjs on Friday, the last day of classes before winter break.

Monday will also be our last day collecting cards for seniors. If your child or family would like to make a card to cheer up a local senior, please send it in on Monday. This week 350 cards were delivered to the Veteran’s Food Bank to add a personal touch to the December food boxes! We will also continue to gather contributions for Braveheart until next Friday,

We look forward to seeing families at our winter concerts where students in grades 1 to 4 students will showcase their musical skills! Specific concert times are below:

  • Wednesday, December 17th – Grade 1 – 9:30 am (doors open at 8:56 am)
  • Wednesday, December 17th – Grades 2-4 – 6:00 pm (doors open at 5:30 pm)
  • Thursday, December 18th – Grades 2-4 – 9:30 am (doors open at 8:56 am)

  Owl’s Nest Book Fair – December 15-19:

We are excited to host our Winter book fair with Calgary’s Owl's Nest bookstore.  They offer an excellent selection of quality books and many of the novelty items students love.  Students can preview on Monday, December 15 and shop during scheduled times on Tuesday to Thursday.  Families are invited to shop in person on Wednesday, December 17th between 3:30pm and 5:45pm.
