Happy Sunday DDS Families,

This week we would like to share our appreciation for our support staff. We have a talented team, including our lunchroom staff, educational assistants, a library assistant, administrative assistants in the office, facility operators, and our bus drivers. Each of our support staff members contribute greatly to the caring and supportive learning community at Douglasdale School. Please join us in thanking and appreciating all they do to support our students, staff and community!

We also took time this week on Earth Day, to think about the impact our actions have on our planet. Grade 2 students took the lead in our multi-age groups to discuss ways we could reduce the waste we produce at Douglasdale School. We are challenging students to start with one small step – reducing our use of paper towels after washing hands. Students learned how to use a single paper towel to dry their hands with the hope we can immediately reduce our waste footprint. Grade 2 has also taken on the task of graphing their progress.

Have a great weekend!

Clippings from your current plants are preferred, with roots started – follow the instructions here for growing roots to transplant.  You can click here to see the best plant options for an indoor living wall.  When your donation is ready, please bring it to the front office.  We are excited to work on this project together with our families!
