Dear DDS Families,
We have so much to be thankful for this week! First, thank you to our families for joining us for Parent/Teacher/Student conferences. Celebrating your child’s learning is an important part of learning at Douglasdale School and we love having families in the school, building our sense of community. Additionally, we would like to say thank you to the many parents who volunteered to run our Scholastic Book Fair. This is an important school fundraiser that helps us keep our library and classroom reading collections current. Finally, our staff want to share a heartfelt thank you to our DDS community for the lovely staff appreciation lunch. It meant a lot to all staff to be spoiled in this way and the soup was perfectly time with the weather. We hope you have a wonderful week ahead for Spring Break and look forward to coming back together on April 2nd.
Happy Spring Break!

Congratulations Mr. Anderson!
The Alberta Music Advocacy Alliance (AMAA) is thrilled to recognize Bruce Anderson in this month’s Spotlight Series which celebrates music within Alberta communities. Bruce is a dedicated music teacher who creates a rich environment where students are encouraged to realize their own potential as learners. His passion, expertise, and love of music are having an important impact on student outcomes and experiences in our school and community. The AMAA also recognizes that outstanding educators like Bruce only flourish when they receive support and encouragement from their school community, so we also thank you for acknowledging the important role that music plays in your students' lives. Bruce was nominated by his peers at the Calgary Orff Chapter, leaders and advocates for quality music education in our province. Please join us in congratulating Bruce on this nomination.
Club Sign-ups:
Spring is around the corner and with it, new opportunities will be offered through early morning extracurricular clubs taking place before school begins. Please talk with your child before signing up for any club, as there are limited spots, and we want to ensure enrolled students are interested in attending.
